<\/a><\/div>\nBJP’s announcement of terror accused Sadhvi Pragya Thakur as a candidate against Digvijai Singh has led to a thousand tongues wagging against nominating a terror accused as a candidate for \u00a0MP . It must be acknowledged that it is a bad practice to nominate criminals for elections but every party is guilty of it . BJP cannot be faulted alone in this lapse .<\/div>\n

Firstly they forget that a Phoolan Devi a dacoit who had murdered 22 Thakurs in Bahmai and countless others and had served a long jail sentence was not only nominated but was \u00a0a member Lok Sabha for five years . Pragya is only an accused in contrast . Pragya has apologised for her comments on Hemant Karkare , an Ashok Chakra\u00a0awardee and an honest officer who sacrificed his life in Mumbai attack . But inspector Mohan Sharma too was an Ashok Chakra awardee who was shot at and died in Batala House encounter case .<\/div>\n
