rediff"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 itemprop=\"headline\">India may contribute 25% nanotechnology professionals by 2025<\/h1>\n<div><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rediff.com\/business\/report\/india-may-contribute-25-nanotechnology-professionals-by-2025\/20140610.htm\">http:\/\/www.rediff.com\/business\/report\/india-may-contribute-25-nanotechnology-professionals-by-2025\/20140610.htm<\/a><\/div>\n<div id=\"arti_content_n\" itemprop=\"articleBody\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"fimage\" title=\"Photograph: Andy Clark\/Reuters\" alt=\"Nanotechnology also allows a special treatment of transparent surfaces like visors, protection goggles or windows to avoid the condensation of water and the resulting fogging.\" src=\"http:\/\/im.rediff.com\/money\/2013\/aug\/12nano4.jpg\" width=\"220\" \/><\/p>\n<div id=\"div_subscribe_in\"><\/div>\n<p>Nearly one in every four nanotechnology professionals in the world is likely to be an Indian for the decade ending 2025, according to an Assocham-TechSci Research joint study.<\/p>\n<div id=\"ad_in_arti\"><\/div>\n<p>From 2015 onwards, global nanotechnology industry would\u00a0require about twenty lakh professionals and India is expected\u00a0to contribute about five lakh professionals in the coming\u00a0years, noted the study.<\/p>\n<p>India&#8217;s contribution in development and application of nanotechnology is expected to increase significantly due to\u00a0growing investments, strong funding and increasing government\u00a0initiatives to encourage growth in nanotechnology market, it\u00a0said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Incentives for research and development, specifying\u00a0manufacturing standards, infrastructure, cost and financing\u00a0and weak industry-academia link are certain key barriers in\u00a0commercialisation of nanotechnology in India, said Chief of\u00a0Integrated Defence Staff Lt Gen Anil Chait while inaugurating\u00a0a national summit on &#8216;Nano India: Policy &amp; Regulations&#8217; here.<\/p>\n<p>In 2011, India&#8217;s share in global nanotechnology research\u00a0publications had reached six per cent from a mere two per cent\u00a0in the year 2000, the study found.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;With its major contributions in applied physics, material science and macromolecules, India has outpaced several countries like Brazil, Taiwan, the UK and France in\u00a0terms of research publication,&#8221; it said.<\/p>\n<p>The study cited lack of appropriate infrastructure, absence of proper skill set and expert workforce, lack of standardisations, lack of knowledge and significant brain drain as the key weaknesses of nanotechnology market in India.<\/p>\n<p>However, the nanotechnology market in India is likely to\u00a0witness strong growth on account of increasing government\u00a0focus on developing and enhancing nanotechnology, it said.<\/p>\n<p>The future of nanotechnology in India is largely dependent on the scale of investment spending and ability to introduce revolutionary products in the market, the study pointed out.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>India may contribute 25% nanotechnology professionals by 2025 http:\/\/www.rediff.com\/business\/report\/india-may-contribute-25-nanotechnology-professionals-by-2025\/20140610.htm Nearly one in every four nanotechnology&#8230;
