WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND…<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
One day a man saw an old lady, stranded on the side of\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 the road, but even in the dim light of day, he could see she needed help.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 So he pulled up in front of her Mercedes and got out. His Pontiac was still\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 sputtering when he approached her. <\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
Even with the smile on his face, she looked worried. No\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 one had stopped to help for the last hour or so. Was he going to hurt her? He didn’t look safe; he looked poor and hungry.<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
He could see that she was frightened, standing out there\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 in the cold. He knew how she felt. It was that chill which only fear can\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 put in you.<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
He said, ‘I’m here to help you, ma’am. Why don’t you wait\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 in the car where it’s warm? By the way, my name is Bryan Anderson.’<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
Well, all she had was a flat tire, but for an old lady,\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 that was bad enough. Bryan crawled under the car looking for a place to put\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 the jack, skinning his knuckles a time or two. Soon he was able to change the tire. But he had to get dirty and his hands hurt.<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
As he was tightening up the lug nuts, she rolled down the\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 window and began to talk to him. She told him that she was from\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 St. Louis\u00a0\u00a0 and was only just passing through. She couldn’t thank\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 him enough for coming to her aid.<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
Bryan just smiled as he closed her trunk. The lady\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 asked how much she owed him. Any amount would have been all right with her.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 She already imagined all the awful things that could have happened had he\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 not stopped.\u00a0\u00a0 Bryan never thought twice about being paid. This\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 was not a job to him. This was helping someone in need, and God knows there\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 were plenty, who had given him a hand in the past. He had lived his whole\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 life that way, and it never occurred to him to act any other way. <\/span><\/b><\/div>\n

He told her that if she really wanted to pay him back, the next time she saw someone who needed\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 help, she could give that person the assistance they needed, and Bryan added,\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 ‘And think of me.’<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
He waited until she started her car and drove off. It had\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 been a cold and depressing day, but he felt good as he headed for home,\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 disappearing into the twilight.<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
A few miles down the road the lady saw a small caf\u00e9. She\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 went in to grab a bite to eat, and take the chill off before she made the\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 last leg of her trip home. It was a dingy looking restaurant. Outside were\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 two old gas pumps. The whole scene was unfamiliar to her. The waitress came\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 over and brought a clean towel to wipe her wet hair. She had a sweet smile,\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 one that even being on her feet for the whole day couldn’t erase. The lady\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 noticed the waitress was nearly eight months pregnant, but she never let\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 the strain and aches change her attitude.<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The old lady wondered how someone who had so little could be so giving to a\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 stranger. Then she remembered Bryan.<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
After the lady finished her meal, she paid with a hundred\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 dollar bill. The waitress quickly went to get change for her hundred dollar\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 bill, but the old lady had slipped right out the door. She was gone by the\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 time the waitress came back. The waitress wondered where the lady could be.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Then she noticed something written on the napkin.<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
There were tears in her eyes when she read what the lady\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 wrote: ‘You don’t owe me anything. I have been there too. Somebody once\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 helped me out, the way I’m helping you. If you really want to pay me back,\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 here is what you do: Do not let this chain of love end with you.’<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
Under the napkin were four more $100.<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
Well, there were tables to clear, sugar bowls to fill,\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 and people to serve, but the waitress made it through another day. That\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 night when she got home from work and climbed into bed, she was thinking\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 about the money and what the lady had written. How could the lady have\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 known how much she and her husband needed it? With the baby due next month,\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 it was going to be hard…<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
She knew how worried her husband was, and as he lay\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 sleeping next to her, she gave him a soft kiss and whispered soft and low,\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 ‘Everything’s going to be all right. I love you, Bryan Anderson.’<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
There is an old saying. ‘What goes around comes around.’ <\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
Today I send you this story, and I’m\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 asking you to pass it on. Let this light shine God works in mysterious ways\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 and sometimes puts people in our lives\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 for a reason.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/i><\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
