Introductory<\/b><\/p>\n
For more than two\u00a0 decades India has been targeted by multiple Jihadi outfits. \u00a0\u00a0Their avowed goal is to Islamicise \u00a0the entire sub-continent. In recent months, \u00a0however, the jihadi threat \u00a0has multiplied manifold due to certain geostrategic developments. \u00a0Consequent upon the formation of Islamic State Caliphate in Iraq and Syria, the Islamist outfits embedded in India are reported to be preparing for launching multiple terrorist strikes beginning right \u00a0from the state of Jammu & Kashmir in north to Kerala in south and from West Bengal and Assam in east to Gujarat and Maharashtra in west.<\/p>\n
To give a turbo-push to the ongoing onslaught of radical Islam, the creation of the Islamic State Caliphate on June 29, 2014, by Al Baghdadi has added a new dimension to the growing threat of jihadi terrorism across India. \u00a0\u00a0Every militant movement needs a charismatic hero, a high profile role model.\u00a0 At the\u00a0 time \u00a0of\u00a0 the \u00a0Russo-Afghan war \u00a0of 1980s Osama bin Laden had appeared on the scene to lead the Islamists\u00a0 warriors on\u00a0 their long march.\u00a0 Now a new Islamic icon al-Baghdadi has emerged as the newest warrior of radical Islam.\u00a0\u00a0 The nomenclature\u00a0 ISIS stands for the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, which became ISIL with the letter\u00a0 \u2018L\u2019\u00a0 standing for the Levant, and finally just the Islamic State, or the IS.\u00a0\u00a0 It is a jihadi group that has established its rule by force of arms in a vast area of northern Iraq as well in parts of Syria.<\/p>\n
The ISIS, also referred to \u00a0as ISIL (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant), is a Sunni jihadist \u00a0breakaway faction of al-Qaeda.\u00a0\u00a0 Its\u00a0 aim to build an Islamic state \u00a0across Iraq and Syria and a few other Middle Eastern countries. f Its Shura has \u2018elected\u2019 the ultra-violent \u00a0Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, a \u00a0jihadist leader, as the new Caliph.\u00a0 At least in theory this proclamation of\u00a0 Baghdadi as Caliph Ibrahim, i.e. the global Caliph \u00a0of \u00a0all \u00a0Muslims has made him \u00a0more powerful than al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri.\u00a0 Following\u00a0 the guidelines provided in\u00a0 The Management\u00a0 of<\/i> Savagery,<\/i>\u00a0 the Islamic State\u00a0(aka ISIS and ISIL)\u00a0have been beheading on camera their captives, including\u00a0 western\u00a0 press correspondents\u00a0 and social workers. While\u00a0citing Islamic texts to justify their actions\u00a0and entice\u00a0 new recruits they have forced hundreds of\u00a0 Christian and\u00a0 Yazidi women into sex slavery.\u00a0 In one of the beheading videos they cited two Quran verses, 8.12 and 47.4\u00a0 to\u00a0 rebuff and refute\u00a0 all those who claim that according to the \u00a0Prophet of Islam beheadings were cruel and unlawful.<\/p>\n
Frankly, time has come to admit that several Islamic outfits, including the ISIS, Al Qaeda, Indian Mujahideen aided by the ISI of Pakistan have cast their shadowy web across several parts of India. The shocking chance discovery \u00a0in October, 2014, of the Jamaati plot to destabilize West Bengal by staging multiple bomb attacks shows the extent to which the Indian state has been subverted by Al Qaeda and the ISI of Pakistan.<\/p>\n
According to intelligence agencies a radical group, Al Isabah, connected with the IS has been feverishly trying to link global jihad to \u2018Hind\u2019 (i.e., India) by posting provocative messages on the Facebook and Twitter. They are working overtime to enlist\u00a0 India\u2019s Muslim youth for Jihad.<\/p>\n
A hitherto unheard-of \u00a0Islamic group, Ansar-ul-Tawheed \u00a0(i.e., AuT) \u00a0has been\u00a0 posting \u00a0ISIS videos with Hindi, Tamil and Urdu subtitles and jihadi literature in Hindi on the internet. One video with Hindi, Tamil and Urdu subtitles, posted on jihadi forums and YouTube, showed a Canadian jihadi identified as Abu Muslim. He was depicted\u00a0 as a typical jihadi \u00a0firing a rocket-propelled grenade and participating in combat before he was killed.<\/p>\n
Indian Youth Joining the Soldiers of Islamic State<\/b><\/p>\n
A few months ago a TV news channel had reported that several \u00a0youth were being recruited from Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Karnataka. They were allegedly being trained in Pakistan, Iraq and Syria to fight as \u2018fidayeen\u2019 of \u00a0the Caliphate. \u00a0Several weeks ago a National Investigating Agency report had estimated that there were nearly 300\u00a0 Indian youth enlisted by the ISIS. As stated in \u00a0an article of\u00a0 Prof. M D Nalapat, published \u00a0on\u00a0 January 24, 2015,\u00a0 in The Sunday Indian<\/i>, \u00a0by now nearly 1000 Indian Muslims have joined the jihad-waging battalions \u00a0of al-Baghdadi.\u00a0 According to official sources the precise \u00a0figure, however, is yet to be confirmed. \u00a0According to Prof. Nalapat, the ISIS recruiters are working overtime in Uttar Pradesh, Assam, West Bengal, Kerala, Seemandhra. Telengana and\u00a0 Maharashtra. Meanwhile, the ISIS mouthpiece, Dabiq<\/i>, has claimed that nearly two \u00a0lakh seventy thousand\u00a0 Indian Muslims are regular viewers of their websites and \u00a0messages posted on Internet. That show the huge reach of\u00a0 ISIS in India.<\/p>\n
The phenomenon of Indian Muslims joining the ISIS as \u2018jehadis\u2019 \u00a0has set \u00a0alarm bells ringing in\u00a0 India\u2019s intelligence agencies \u00a0since the case of Mumbai-based engineering student Arif \u00a0Ejaz \u00a0Majeed came\u00a0to light. \u00a0Majeed was reportedly \u00a0killed fighting alongside Islamist insurgents in Iraq. The death of 23-year-old Majeed and the online tributes paid to him by the Islamic militant outfit Ansar-ul-Tawhid hailing his \u2018martyrdom\u2019 confirms that a section of Indian Muslim youth have been persuaded to lay their lives \u201cin search \u00a0of\u00a0 paradise\u201d.\u00a0 The confirmation of\u00a0\u00a0 Arif Majeed\u2019s death while fighting in the cause of\u00a0 the IS Caliphate\u00a0 has\u00a0 punctured\u00a0 Indian\u00a0 media\u2019s\u00a0 routinely propagated bogey that it\u00a0 is only the impoverished, illiterate, and socially marginalized Muslim youth who tend to\u00a0 join terror outfits like IS\u00a0 and the Indian Mujahideen.\u00a0 Majeed\u2019s case shows that there is no truth in the frequently mouthed alibi propagated by the self-styled secularists that poverty is the cause of\u00a0 a spurt\u00a0 in growth of radical Muslims.\u00a0\u00a0 Now, even educated, upwardly mobile, urbane Muslim youth are joining terror outfits in the name of jihad.\u00a0 Only after\u00a0 death of Majeed\u00a0 did the Indian intelligence agencies realize how close India was to the threat posed by the\u00a0 ISIS. o<\/p>\n
The website of Ansar-ul-Tawhid has been\u00a0 giving repetitive calls reportedly to Indian Muslims for joining the ongoing\u00a0 jihad.\u00a0 Time has come to admit that Islamic terror outfits have \u00a0made\u00a0 focused \u00a0inroads in several States. Al Isabah Media, an outfit working for\u00a0 the IS, \u00a0\u00a0has provided links to nine videos, the first of which was posted around \u00a03rd<\/sup> week of January, 2015.\u00a0\u00a0 Their most recent \u00a0was the one , featuring the Canadian fighter Abu Muslim\u00a0 in the beginning of February, 2015. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Let us not forget that several thousand Indians are working in\u00a0 Dubai, the UAE, Kuwait and Iraq.\u00a0 The possibility of some\u00a0 of them\u00a0 participating\u00a0 in\u00a0 the\u00a0 war being waged by the\u00a0 Islamic State cannot be ruled out.\u00a0 Some of these \u00a0might have \u00a0\u00a0joined \u00a0the ISIS, while others could be working as recruiters after returning to India. <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n the countries where the rights of \u00a0Muslims had\u00a0 \u00a0been “forcibly seized”. He \u00a0also<\/p>\n criticised the West for not recognising “the killing of Muslims in Burma” and the “dismembering and disembowelling of the Muslims in the Philippines, Indonesia, and Kashmir” as wanton acts of terrorism.<\/p>\n Danger Posed by AuT<\/b><\/p>\n Animesh Roul, a researcher of \u00a0the New Delhi-based Society for the Study of \u00a0Peace and Conflict,\u00a0 rightly described Ansar-ut Tawheed Fi Bilad Al Hind, or AuT, as a hitherto unknown group which publicises the so-called government atrocities against Muslims in India and encourages Indian Muslims to join the Afghan or Syrian jihads and for mounting multiple terrorist attacks inside India.\u00a0In a recent article \u00a0authored for The Jamestown Foundation’s Terrorism Monitor<\/i>, \u00a0Raul\u00a0 pointed out\u00a0 that AuT had issued at least four videotapes since October 2013, including \u00a0the one on May 17, 2014, calling for attacks against Indian targets worldwide. This ten-minute video featured AuT leader Maulana Abdur Rahman al-Hindi urging jihadi leaders like Taliban chief Mullah Omar, Al Qaeda’s Ayman al-Zawahiri, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, Nasir Abd al- Wuhayshi of al-Qaeda in Arabian Peninsula, and al-Shabaab’s Abdi Godane to attack Indian government interests and economic centres in India and elsewhere as a means of “protecting the Muslims of India”, elucidated Animesh Roul. Yet another video features the first Friday sermon delivered by ISIS chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, with flawless Tamil subtitles.\u00a0 \u00a0The Al Isabah Media Production, which claims on its Twitter account to be the media unit of “Ansar ut Tawheed Fi Bilad Al Hind” (Supporters of Monotheism in India), claims to have posted these \u00a0videos.\u00a0 According to knowledgeable sources, Al Isabah’s Twitter account and its Facebook page have links to the videos and other jihadi propaganda, including a link to a book in Hindi titled “Jihad Me Shirkat Ke 44 Tarike (44 ways to participate in jihad)”.\u00a0 The book was purportedly written \u00a0by the since \u00a0‘terminated’ US citizen-turned jihad preacher Anwar Awlaki and translated by “Abu Haider al Hindi”. ISIS Jihadis Active in Kashmir, South India and West Bengal <\/b><\/p>\n \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b>Let us not forget that there have been frequent demonstration of\u00a0 ISIS flags and symbols along with pro-Pakistani activity, including trampling on India\u2019s national flag by militant Islamic groups in the valley. Similar incidents of pro-IS activities, including distribution\u00a0 of \u00a0Islamic State marked \u2018T\u2019 shirts have been reported from Tamil Nadu\u00a0 – \u00a0even from \u00a0Hyderabad and Kolkata.<\/p>\n According to intelligence agencies, the potential for recruitment of Muslim youth by ISIS all over the subcontinent is quite large, although\u00a0 the phenomenon is more visible in \u00a0Pakistan and Bangladesh than \u00a0in India. \u00a0\u00a0Yet, the possibility of recruitment from India cannot be denied. All these may not come from within India itself; many could be those who form part of the worker class diaspora in West Asia, particularly the Gulf region where they come in contact with Muslims from other nations and get\u00a0slowly radicalized. It must be admitted that social \u00a0media is \u00a0being extensively used to influence the Muslim youth of India and Pakistan.<\/p>\n The million dollar question, however, is what motivates a section of \u00a0educated Indian Muslim youth like engineers, doctors and \u00a0IT professionals to join jihadist movements abroad.\u00a0 According to some experts the\u00a0 teaching\u00a0 of the doctrine of jihad in lakhs of\u00a0 Islamic seminaries, called madarasas, has a lasting imprint on the minds of young pupils.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Abu Bakr Naji\u2019s Strategy of\u00a0 Management of Savagery<\/b><\/p>\n The core emphasis of\u00a0 Naji\u2019s\u00a0 thesis\u00a0 is on creating pockets of political chaos\u00a0 by recourse to unremitting savagery\u00a0 for acquiring territorial control in\u00a0 selected areas.\u00a0 He calls it\u00a0 a strategic prelude to\u00a0 the birth of\u00a0 an Islamic state.\u00a0 And al-Baghdadi has been ruthlessly\u00a0 implementing the guidelines enunciated in the tome, The Management of Savagery<\/i>.\u00a0\u00a0 An important part of Naji\u2019s\u00a0 vision is a belief in recourse to barbaric strategies for educating and training the\u00a0 new jihadi cadres. In fact, when listing the key requirements for \u2018\u2018managing\u00a0 savagery\u2019\u2019 in areas where jihadis gain territorial control, he specifically emphasizes the need for \u2018\u2018raising the level of the self-belief and combat efficiency during the training of\u00a0 the youth in the region of savagery by establishing a fighting society\u201d at all levels.<\/p>\n Unfortunately not many Indian analysts seem to be bothered about the fact that the self-appointed Caliph\u00a0 of\u00a0 Islamic State, \u00a0al-Baghdadi, has been ruthlessly\u00a0 implementing the guidelines enunciated in the tome, \u2018The Management of Savagery<\/i>\u2019, authored by \u00a0the newest\u00a0 idealogue\u00a0 of the\u00a0 Islamic State, Abu Bakr Naji. An important part of \u00a0Naji\u2019s\u00a0 vision is a belief in recourse to barbaric strategies for educating and training the\u00a0 new jihadi cadres. In fact, when listing the key requirements for \u2018\u2018managing\u00a0 savagery\u2019\u2019 in areas where jihadis gain territorial control, he specifically emphasizes the need for \u2018\u2018raising the level of the self-belief and combat efficiency during the training of\u00a0 the youth in the region of savagery by establishing a fighting society\u201d at all levels.<\/p>\n According to Naji, \u00a0for establishing an Islamic State the Muslims will\u00a0 have to walk\u00a0 through\u00a0 three stages. \u00a0The first stage will\u00a0 be to increase the power of \u201cvexation and exhaustion\u201d \u00a0in the targeted country. The second stage will be the stepping up administration of savagery by jihdi groups to create chaos. And thereafter will come the third stage, namely the acquisition of the power of\u00a0 establishing the Islamic state. A close\u00a0 study of the establishment of\u00a0 al-Baghdadi\u2019s Caliphate in Syria, Iraq and Levant reveals the faithful implementation\u00a0 of the above mentioned\u00a0 three\u00a0 stages of jihadi onlaught.<\/p>\n Use of Savagery as Force Multiplier in Medieval Times by Muslims<\/b><\/p>\n An in-depth \u00a0analysis of the history of\u00a0 Islamic wars waged across India and<\/p>\n several\u00a0 European countries during medieval times reveals the horrid contours of the\u00a0 relentless strategy of savagery practiced against the Hindus of \u00a0India and Christians of\u00a0 the Balkans and Spain.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0It is a pity that today\u2019s Indian \u00a0leaders have failed to understand the fact that during medieval times \u2018savagery\u2019 was used as a \u201cforce multiplier\u201d \u00a0by\u00a0 Muslim \u00a0invaders across Indian sub-cotinent and other lands subjugated by them. \u00a0Interestingly, the\u00a0 widespread recourse to terrorise the\u00a0 non-Muslim population advocated by Abu Bakr Naji in his tome, \u2018The<\/i> Management of Savagery\u2019<\/i> is being implemented with impunity\u00a0 in the caliphate controlled by al-Baghdadi for capturing more teritories. Large scale beheadings of kaffirs and abduction of\u00a0 Yazidi and Christian women for sex-slavery are two\u00a0 prominent examples of\u00a0 the savagery unleashed by the storm-troopers of IS caliphate to subjugate the so-called \u2018kaffirs\u2019. \u00a0The strategic\u00a0 construct of\u00a0 limitless savagery against kaffirs (the non-believers in Quran) invented\u00a0 in medieval era continues to rule the hearts and minds of \u00a0al-Baghdadi and his storm-troopers even today. The gory tradition is faithfully reflected in the ghastly public beheadings of innocents, destruction of\u00a0 churches and using hundreds of Christian and Yezidi women as sex-slaves! Not many of them know that\u00a0 Abu Bakr Naji is the ideologue of al Baghdadi\u2019s caliphate and that his infamous book, The Management<\/i> of\u00a0 Savagery<\/i>, has become the War Manual of\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0 Islamic caliphate.\u00a0 The book was published\u00a0 online in 2004. It\u00a0\u00a0 was translated into English by William Mc Cants, who is a Fellow at the West Point Combating Terror Center. in 2006.<\/p>\n It is time to realize \u00a0that Indian Mujahideen and fellow travellers of ISI have laid a comprehensive siege to India. They are believed to be working in close cooperation with\u00a0 the\u00a0 activists and sympathizers of ISIS operating underground in India.\u00a0 After subverting Kashmir and penetrating India\u2019s vulnerable northeast, the jihadi groups \u00a0have shifted their focus to south India. Therefore, the latest fortresses of\u00a0 militant Islam \u00a0have been set up in the coastal states of Kerala and Tamilnadu. \u00a0Both these States have witnessed phenomenal growth in the activities of\u00a0 Pakistan\u2019s \u00a0ISI and jihadi outfits like Lashkar Tayebba, the Popular Front of India, the Campus Front and several\u00a0 other militant outposts. The ISI and Lashkar have already secured toeholds in Maldives and Sri Lanka from where they intend to mount Islamist attacks on south India.<\/p>\n Threat of\u00a0 Multiple Faultline Conflicts Erupting Across India<\/b><\/p>\n According to the research of\u00a0 Sundeep Waslekar\u2019s\u00a0 thinktank, Foresight Group, \u00a0by the year 2004\u00a0 the\u00a0 ISI\u00a0 had\u00a0 successfully\u00a0 set up as many as\u00a0 sixty\u00a0 Espionage\u00a0 Centres all over India in which nearly 10,000\u00a0 trained\u00a0 spies were employed.\u00a0\u00a0 Well, that was a rough\u00a0 estimate made\u00a0 by Sundeep Waslekar\u00a0\u00a0 eleven years ago. According to reliable intelligence sources by now the number of\u00a0 active\u00a0 ISI-planted\u00a0 Espionage Centres\u00a0 in India have more than doubled.\u00a0 These espionage centres\u00a0\u00a0 constitute multiple\u00a0 formidable\u00a0 spynests\u00a0 of\u00a0\u00a0 Pakistan\u2019s\u00a0 fifth columnist whose\u00a0 numbers are growing exponentially and alarmingly.\u00a0 The number of\u00a0 core\u00a0 ISI agents and fellow travellers operating\u00a0 in India is believed to be in the range of\u00a0 fifty to sixty\u00a0 thousands\u00a0 or more.\u00a0 They constitute\u00a0 a formidable army of\u00a0 fifth\u00a0 columnists whose single-minded\u00a0 mission is to subvert India and\u00a0 Islamicise the entire sub-continent by waging\u00a0 the asymmetric holy war called \u2018Jihad\u2019.<\/p>\n A number of\u00a0 well-known pro-jihadi lobbies are operating brazenly, not only in States, but at all India level too, often masquerading as bleeding heart liberals and preachers of peace and communal harmony.\u00a0 Many of\u00a0 these \u00a0traitors and fellow travellers, including some politicians, \u00a0have no shame in openly pleading the cause of\u00a0 jihadi outfits.<\/p>\n During\u00a0 last eleven years the number of active ISI-planted espionage centres in India is believed to have more than doubled. These espionage centres constitute \u00a0formidable spynests of \u00a0Pakistan\u2019s fifth columnist whose numbers are growing exponentially.\u00a0 According\u00a0 to informed sources \u00a0by now the number of core ISI agents and fellow travellers operating in India is believed to be in the range of fifty to sixty thousands or more. They constitute a formidable army of fifth columnists whose single-minded mission is to subvert India and Islamicise the entire sub-continent by waging the classical asymmetric Islamic war called \u2018Jihad\u2019.<\/p>\n It is equally important \u00a0to make an assessment of\u00a0 the growing threat posed by \u00a0traitors, fifth columnists and fellow travellers operating in various parts of the country.\u00a0 India has \u00a0already been marked for special attention by Al Qaeda operating in cahoots with the recently declared Islamic Caliphate by the ISIS as \u00a0pointed out in the beginning. \u00a0Al Qaeda followed that up by giving\u00a0 call for\u00a0 making\u00a0 \u00a0West Bengal \u00a0a Caliphate, as if to add an edge to the Jamaati plot hatched in \u00a0across Bangladesh. The kind of response by an Indian Muslim \u00a0leader for rewarding the perpetrators of the recent Charlie Hebdo killers of\u00a0 \u00a0Paris, is a further indication of the growing threat to India.\u00a0 The Urdu press had openly praised\u00a0 the Charlie Hebdo killers. How far such proclamations by hardliner Islamic clerics and the likes of\u00a0 Akbaruddin Akbar of\u00a0 the MIM can influence the\u00a0 mindset of \u00a0Indian Muslims would need close watch.<\/p>\n Another fast-rising internal security threat is the unchecked illegal iinflux of Bangladeshi Muslims – an internal security danger highlighted \u00a0by several security strategists long time ago. The implications of the menace of illegal infiltration boldly condemned by the highest court of the land has not been effectively tackled till now even by the recently \u00a0elected popular nationalist government. \u00a0\u00a0Frankly, only people living in northeastern States are aware of the havoc played by Bangladeshi infiltrators in Assam and adjoining States. The recent outburst of fury\u00a0 and rioting\u00a0 witnessed in Dimapur (Nagaland)\u00a0 on\u00a0 March 5, 2015, after rape of a Naga lady by an Indian Muslim (suspected to be infiltrator) shows how that\u00a0 entire region has been transformed into a tinderbox of violence.<\/p>\n The orthopraxy of\u00a0 Naji\u2019s \u00a0book Management of Savagery<\/i> \u00a0is in line with the violent \u00a0thinking\u00a0 of\u00a0 Islamic ideologues.\u00a0 It was published by the markaz al-buhuth wa- al-dirasat al-islamiyya [Center of Islamic Studies and Research], which is widely considered \u00a0as an important, semi- official mouthpiece of al-Qaida. It was released on jihadi websites for the first time in 2004, and attracted much attention and was distributed, discussed, and recommended on a number of\u00a0 jihadi \u00a0websites ( e.g., al-firdaus, al-ansar, tajdeed, muslm.net, qa3edoon.com, etc.).<\/p>\n Not much \u00a0is known about the background of\u00a0 Abu Bakr Naji, apart from the fact that he has been \u00a0a frequent contributor \u00a0to\u00a0 al-Qaeda\u2019s mouthpiece, a magazine titled\u00a0 \u201cThe Voice of Jihad\u201d.<\/i>\u00a0\u00a0 According to Al Arabiya Institute for Islamic Studies, the real identity of Abu Bakr Naji is Muhammad Khalil al-Hakaymah.\u00a0 \u00a0His known works are this remarkable treatise on using\u00a0 savagery as a war-winning weapon, apart from some contributions made\u00a0 to the al-Qaeda\u2019s online magazine Sawt al-Jihad<\/i>,\u00a0 which means \u201cLovers of Paradise\u201d.\u00a0 The said journal\u00a0 is a professional guide for training the\u00a0 jihadi recruits.<\/p>\n Challenges Facing \u00a0Security Forces\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n Keeping in view the foregoing facts there is an urgent need for holding strategic discourses on the subject\u00a0 at \u00a0public forums for devising India\u2019s response to the jihadi threat posed by the IS Caliphate and allied radical outfits. \nThe IS chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has been\u00a0 referring \u00a0to India in \u00a0his video and audio messages released\u00a0 from time to time. In an audio message released during Ramzan, al-Baghdadi claimed \u00a0that several Indians\u00a0 had been part of the ranks of his group and were fighting shoulder to shoulder alongside Chinese, American, French and German nationals.
\nIn \u00a0one of his speeches Al-Baghdadi\u00a0\u00a0 also proclaimed that\u00a0 India was one of<\/p>\n
\nEarlier this year, Al Qaeda ideologue \u00a0Asim Umar had \u00a0issued a video in Urdu which \u00a0exhorted Muslims in Jammu and Kashmir and other parts of India \u00a0to join the jihad being waged by the Islamic State. One video with Hindi, Tamil and Urdu subtitles, posted on jihadi forums and YouTube, featured a Canadian jihadi\u00a0 named Abu Muslim.\u00a0 He was shown firing a rocket-propelled grenade and participating in combat before being killed.\u00a0 Another video with Hindi subtitles features ISIS spokesman Shaikh Adnani.<\/p>\n
\nThe Facebook page also has several links leading to jihadi literature in Urdu, including a booklet on “Jihad: the forgotten obligation attributed to a writer named “Ubaidha al Hindi”.\u00a0\u00a0 The videos and threatening cals posted\u00a0 on Internet\u00a0 can no longer \u00a0be taken lightly in view of the reports of Muslim youths from Thane, \u00a0Chennai and Hyderabad \u00a0travelling to joi the \u00a0ISIS.<\/p>\n
