It is worth poe ndering that while we are spending billions on arms purchase , we are just not ready for an assymetric war in which corruption , rumours , mischief will be mixed to destroy us in Libyan style . Government and society should prepare the nation for an assymetric warfare too . Indians seem to think nothing peculiar about corruption. It is everywhere.<br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>Indians tolerate corrupt individuals rather than correct them.<br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>No race can be congenitally corrupt.<br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>But can a race be corrupted by its culture?<br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>To know why Indians are corrupt, look at their patterns and practices.<\/span><span style=\"color: #a00000; font-family: Calibri; font-size: large;\"><b><br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>First:<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #104160; font-family: Calibri; font-size: large;\"><br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>Religion is transactional in India.<br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>Indians give God cash and anticipate an out-of-turn reward.<br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>Such a plea acknowledges that favours are needed for the undeserving.<br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>In the world outside the temple walls, such a transaction is named \u201cbribe\u201d.<\/span> <span style=\"color: #104160; font-family: Calibri; font-size: large;\"><br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>A wealthy Indian gives not cash to temples, but gold crowns and such baubles.<br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>His gifts can not feed the poor. His pay-off is for God. He thinks it will be wasted if it goes to a needy man.<b><br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>In June 2009, The Hindu published a report of Karnataka minister G. Janardhan Reddy gifting a crown of gold and diamonds worth Rs 45 crore to Tirupati.<\/b><br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>India\u2019s temples collect so much that they don&#8217;t know what to do with it. Billions are gathering dust in temple vaults.<b><br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>When Europeans came to India they built schools. When Indians go to Europe &amp; USA, they build temples.<\/b><br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>Indians believe that if God accepts money for his favours, then nothing is wrong in doing the same thing. This is why Indians are so easily corruptible.<br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>Indian culture accommodates such transactions morally. <b>There is no real stigma. An utterly corrupt JayaLalita can make a comeback, just unthinkable in the West.<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #c20041; font-family: Calibri; font-size: large;\"><b><br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>Second &#8211;<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #104160; font-family: Calibri; font-size: large;\"><br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>Indian moral ambiguity towards corruption is visible in its history. Indian history tells of the capture of cities and kingdoms after guards were paid off to open the gates, and commanders paid off to surrender.<\/span><span style=\"color: #2181ff; font-family: Calibri; font-size: large;\"><b><br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>This is unique to India.<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #104160; font-family: Calibri; font-size: large;\"><br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>Indians&#8217; corrupt nature has meant limited warfare on the subcontinent.<\/span><span style=\"color: #e01f25; font-family: Calibri; font-size: large;\"><br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>It is striking how little Indians have actually fought compared to ancient Greece and modern Europe.<\/span><span style=\"color: #104160; font-family: Calibri; font-size: large;\"><br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>The Turks\u2019 battles with Nadir Shah were vicious and fought to the finish.<br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>In India fighting wasn&#8217;t needed, bribing was enough to see off armies.<br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>Any invader willing to spend cash could brush aside India\u2019s kings, no matter how many tens of thousands soldiers were in their infantry.<\/span><span style=\"color: #2181ff; font-family: Calibri; font-size: large;\"><br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>Little resistance was given by the Indians at the \u201c Battle \u201d of Plassey.<br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>Clive paid off Mir Jaffar and all of Bengal folded to an army of 3,000.<\/span><span style=\"color: #104160; font-family: Calibri; font-size: large;\"><br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>There was always a financial exchange to taking Indian forts. Golconda was captured in 1687 after the secret back door was left open.<br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>Mughals vanquished Marathas and Rajputs with nothing but bribes.<br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>The Raja of Srinagar gave up Dara Shikoh\u2019s son Sulaiman to Aurangzeb after receiving a bribe.<br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>There are many cases where Indians participated on a large scale in treason due to bribery.<b><br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>Question is: Why Indians have a transactional culture while other &#8216;civilized&#8217; nations don&#8217;t?<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #a00000; font-family: Calibri; font-size: large;\"><b><br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>Third &#8211;<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #104160; font-family: Calibri; font-size: large;\"><br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>Indians do not believe in the theory that they all can rise if each of them behaves morally, because that is not the message of their faith.<\/span><span style=\"color: #2181ff; font-family: Calibri; font-size: large;\"><br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>Their caste system separates them.<br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>They don&#8217;t believe that all men are equal.<\/span><span style=\"color: red; font-family: Calibri; font-size: large;\"><br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>This resulted in their division and migration to other religions<\/span><span style=\"color: #104160; font-family: Calibri; font-size: large;\">.<\/span> <span style=\"color: #104160; font-family: Calibri; font-size: large;\"><br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>Many Hindus started their own faith like Sikh, Jain, Buddha and many converted to Christianity and Islam.<br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>The result is that Indians don&#8217;t trust one another.<\/span><span style=\"color: #2181ff; font-family: Calibri; font-size: large;\"><b><br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>There are no Indians in India, there are Hindus, Christians, Muslims and what not.<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #104160; font-family: Calibri; font-size: large;\"><br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>This division evolved an unhealthy culture.
