After obtaining Masters degrees in Chemistry and Metallurgical Engineering, Sri A P Joshi worked in senior positions in India and abroad in various non-ferrous companies. In 1978 he started his own aluminium alloying unit ‘Padma Metals’. After retirement he took lead in organising a national seminar on ‘Ancient Indian Chronology’ in Chennai in 1995. Subsequently he initiated studies in Indian religious demography which culminated in the publishing of two editions of ‘Religious Demography of India’ in 2003 and 2005 by The Centre for Policy studies. At present he is studying Islamic and Christian faiths
