SAMSKRITA : THE ONLY NATURAL LANGUAGE OF ALL AND FOR ALL
Samskrita is very aptly called Devavani i.e. ‘Language of Deva-s’ or ’Language of the Heaven’ with it’s script in Devanagari i.e. dwelling of deities. It was invoked and practised by those who were divinely serene endowed with the faculty of discriminative cognition. This is one language which has not been created by human beings at all, the only one among so many languages in the world. This is one language which could not be destroyed by human beings in spite of combined, best efforts of all Secular-Ayatollahs and Missionary-Benedicts from all over the world. They simply ended up in lavishly admiring the language, it’s range, depth, divinity and its mysticism like the ill-intentioned missionary, Max Mueller. This is one language which cannot be destroyed by any human being irrespective of any other factor whatsoever.
The very word ‘Samskrita‘ means evolved, refined, consecrated, transformed. Samskrita is an institution which has ever been constantly under transformation, refinement and enrichment. It is so because all those who attained Absolute Wisdom through various Adhyatmika pursuits, left their indelible mark on the language by contributing their own bit in Samskrita only, be it poetry, music, drama, astronomy, law, dance, science, metaphysics or any other discipline of knowledge and wisdom. Samskrita nourished their enlightenment then, Samskrita itself was nourished and strengthened by their enlightenment. Thus Samskrita became poetic, dramatic, musical, illuminating and mystical. All Sanatana scriptures viz. Veda-s / Upanisad-s / Mahabharata etc. are composed in Samskrita only. Since words in Samskrita are precisely imprecise, it allows considerable resilience to Sloka-s / Mantra-s / Sutra-s to be interpreted in various ways. 800 Dhatu-s in Samskrita are similar to seeds of 800 gigantic banyan trees with sprawling foliage of words and expressions !!! It is generally multi-dimensional with all meanings being independent of one another. For instance, “Rama” means to be calm, to rest, to delight in, cause delight to, to love, to join, to please, to be blissed, to play, to be peaceful, to stand still, to cease, to come to a stop, divine and the Absolute !! Samskrita has been mellifluous as ever like a melodious poem emanating from ones heart and soul to register an impact on heart and soul of others. On the contrary, other languages have been undergoing transformation owing to scientific advances in linguistics. They are becoming precise and rational progressively albeit at the expense of innate liveliness and dynamism.
We all creatures are ‘Beings’ ‘enveloped’ within an ‘envelope’. This ‘envelope’ is the gross body, ‘enveloped’ is the subtle body and ‘Beings’ are nothing but our own innermost Self i.e. Atma. Gross body is constituted of five ‘Bhuta-s’ i.e. Prthvi (Earth), Jala (Water), Vayu (Wind), Agni (Fire) and finally Akasa (Space). These are five elements that are fundamental in nature, constituting entire gross creation known to humanity. Subtle body is blueprint of a being, its past, present and future. It includes all its Karma-s too and roadmap to ultimate salvation discernible to Siddha Yogi-s alone. Subtle body is constituted of seven Cakra-s and seventy-two thousand Nadi-s. These Cakra-s are regional centres of Prana and the complex labyrinthine of Nadi-s, passage-ways for the flow of Prana throughout gross body. Uninterrupted flow of Prana throughout the gross body through Nadi-s ensures a being remains a being and not a dead object. Seven Cakra-s are SAHASRARA (on top of the head), AJNA (between eye-brows), VISUDDHA (centre of throat), ANAHATA (centre of chest), MANIPURAKA (just above navel), SVADHISTHANA (just below navel) and lastly, MULADHARA (just below tail-bone). All features and components of the blueprint mentioned earlier, are neatly distributed among these seven Cakra-s with an amazing degree of finesse that is simply impossible to accomplish without divine intelligence.
DHVANI (sound) of the entire VARNAMALA i.e. alphabets of Samskrita is distinctly and individually embedded deep within these seven Cakra-s. Sound of Samskrita Varnamala has been distinctly perceived / listened to by innumerable realized, Siddha Yogi-s who inhabited this divine land known as Bharatvarsa (not India, of course !) all these years since time immemorial. Entire Dhvani of Samskrita Varnamala can be perceived distinctly by pursuing eight organs of Astangayoga by any individual. All other sounds in the world of all languages and their alphabets are merely derivatives / syntheses of one or more of Samskrita Varnamala i.e. its Dhvani. There is no Dhvani i.e. sound that ever existed in the cosmos since its creation not included in the Dhvani of Samskrita Varnamala. Paramahamsa Yogananda enunciated fifty sounds of Samskrita alphabets exist on petals of Sahasrara Cakra, receptacle of cosmic Prana located in Medulla Oblongata of every human brain. Sounds of Devanagari script reverberate in 72,000 Nadi-s of our subtle body. As a matter of fact, every letter of Samskrita Varnamala is associated with a specific colour, deity and a certain divine effect. VYAKARANA i.e. Grammar of Samskrita was enunciated by Maharsi Panini, an inhabitant of Gandhar in Afghanistan, in an intensive state of trance attained through profound Dhyana (meditation) when he was in direct communion with the Supreme Existence. Vyakarana, beyond the domain of human intellect, is so rich and intense that it mesmerises scholars of linguistics everywhere in the world.
Samskrita alphabets cannot be obliterated i.e. Aksara as these are not mortal creations. They are eternal and manifest when uttered, delivered by Brahma, the Creator according to Bhagavata Purana. Thirty-three Vyanjana-s i.e. consonants represent twelve Aditya-s, eleven Rudra-s, eight Vasu-s and two Aswini Kumara-s. First twenty-five Vyanjana-s in five sets of five each represent five Mahabhuta-s, five Karmendriya-s i.e. organs of action, five Jnanendriya-s i.e. organs of cognition, five Tanmatra-s i.e. subtle elements and five corresponding Visaya-s i.e. objects of sense gratification. Sixteen vowels i.e. Svara-s represent sixteen orders of creative faculties i.e. Kala-s. Spandana i.e. vibrations created by these alphabets when uttered have the strength to create matter or even destroy matter. I have personally witnessed material objects being created in my hands through Mantra-s by Siddha-s. For study of Samskrita, its Vyakaranam and Mantra-s, proficiency of Uccarana i.e. pronunciation is of utmost importance. It is hidden Spandana all that matters. If Samskrita alphabets or Mantra-s are translated into any other language, entire Adhyatmika effect is completely lost. Similarly Samskrita words too, lose their real import and meaning when translated into any other language.
As a natural corollary, we automatically arrive at undermentioned conclusions instantly –
Coming straight from the Supreme Entity, it is only and the most fundamental language known for whatever is there in the name of existence.
All other languages of the world, past and present, existing as well as extinct including their grammar, are merely poor imitations / distortions of the prime and supreme one i.e. Samskrita in all respects.
As Dhvani of the Samskrita Varnamala is an integral constituent of our subtle body through seven Cakra-s, we all exist through Samskrita, in Samskrita and we all are made up of Samskrita !!
That’s the reason why it is ancient. As ancient as the universe itself !!! Yes, Samskrita is within us and we are Samskrita !!! Even diehard Mullahs, Ayatollahs and Faith-Harvester Benedicts are also made-up of Samskrita, they exist in Samskrita as they breathe Samskrita in and out every moment every day !!! Anyone who denies significance of Samskrita, is in fact denying his own very existence. If you cannot deny your own existence, you cannot deny existence of Samskrita. Do we need to prove any more supreme primacy, invincibility and indestructibility of the language that is Samskrita ?? Being supremely dynamic encompassing all disciplines of knowledge, Samskrita has always been main language of communication in Bharata. Historian Dr. Lokesh Chandra remarked aptly, “Samskrita is the thread on which pearls of the necklace of Bharatiya culture are strung; break the thread and all pearls will be scattered, even lost forever.” Size of Samskrita vocabulary consists of one crore or ten million words while modern English language has just about ten lakhs i.e. one million. Since Samskrita has been out of widespread applications, it does not have contemporary scientific and technological terms which may be coined once it is rendered popular. As per 21st Amendment of the Constitution, it has 22 ‘national languages’, nation still does not have a unifying ‘Rastra–Bhasa’ or national lingua. Such a deformity may well be catastrophic during trying times in life of a nation as the world witnessed in creation of Bangladesh through fierce assertion of Bangla language.
Samskrita is endowed with a unique capability of raising human consciousness and understanding impossible to be developed through any other language. It is endowed with immense potential of multi-faceted development in years to come, deeply influenced all languages and dialects in Bharata. From Kargil to Kanyakumari, from Kachha to Kamrupa, Samskrita alone is capable of knitting the entire country into a linguistically unified nation. It has been a strong and vibrant link with South-east Asian countries viz. Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam as well as significant links with Central Asian countries too. Samskrita alone deserves to be national language of Bharata, another coruscating jewel to Bharata’s Golden Crown.
I lost my glorious mother-tongue i.e. Samskrita because I was educated as one among scores of McCaulay Putra-s in this country. I stand humiliated today for having lost my mother-tongue because of the abject leadership that the nation had been consigned to since 1947. Yet I am determined to reclaim the glory of my lost mother-tongue. May I wish and pray, this pathetic state of affairs be addressed properly for generations to come ???
