Shri Ramashray Upadhyay , a veteran member of Patriots Forum, breathed his last on 4 th May at Dwarka in Delhi. He was unwell for some time .
He was born in village Kabilpur ,Darbhanga , Bihar on 11 th January 1939. He did M.A. in Sanskrit from Patna college and joined IB in 1963 and worked there till retirement .Apart from other duties he was also closely associated with Mukti Bahini during Bangladesh operations.
He is survived by his wife Malti a homeopathic doctor , two sons and a daughter . All his children are very well placed thus contributing to his satisfaction in the twilight years of his life.
Behind his humble and soft spoken personality , Shri Upadhyay was a great scholar and a prolific writer . His famous book ‘Indian Muslims In A whirlpool ‘ is a very scholarly presentation and kept in Prime Minister’s Office library. He was regularly writing in the journal of South Asia Analysis Group and his articles bore his trade marc of accuracy and in depth analysis.
With his death Patriots Forum has lost a very valuable member . May his soul rest in peace .
