Actor Allu Arjun’s Arrest : A Shame , Opens A New Door For Blackmail And Extortion By State and Criminals ! Do Famous people Not Have Basic Fundamental Rights ?
Pushpa 2 movie , a record breaker in all sense , was released recently . Its premier was to be held on December 4 th in Hyderabad , a natural venue for Telgu movies . Its hero Allu Arjun went to attend the premier . In a stampede a woman died at the hall in which police also resorted to mild lathi charge .
Actor Allu Arjun was arrested by Hyderabad police seven days later because he went to hall without informing police . But the hall management had reportedly informed the police about the premier and about cast attending it in advance and asked police to make necessary arrangement . Allu Arjun was basically held responsible for woman’s death in spite of his donating 20 lakhs to her family. Court hurriedly sent him to fourteen days judicial custody , But by 5 pm he was granted bail by High Court.
The important question is about
- motives of arrest and extremely bad precedent it sets for extortion and blackmail of celebrities by State and Dawood gangsters alike .
- Who is supposed to inform police ? guests or organiser of a programme.
Can a celebrity not just take a walk or do shopping or attend movies like an ordinary citizen who enjoys freedom of movement ?
Who is responsible for stampede , foolishly crazy public, hall management , police or celebrity ?
The primary duty to inform the police about premier was of the hall management not the actor .If police was informed in advance by Hall management as reported , the responsibility of not controlling stampede rests squarely with police . Secondary responsibility is of the star crazy public . Why it rushes for darshan of celebrities like god’s avtar . Actor can accept invitation after management has informed police without reinforming informing police as a fundamental right of movement.
But there is a dangerous angle .
Is it the beginning of extortion by State in collusion with Dawood Gang which has terrorised the Bollywood and made it a centre of deeply resented anti hindu culture as seen in the insulting Shivji’s toilet scene of movie PK ? This is important because Bollywood is repeatedly being ignored in preference to simple South movies like Kantara , RRR, Pushpa etc particularly after Covid . Karan Johar , the mighty moghul of hindi films has sold his company in desperation after repeated failures of his films at Box office .
This aspect needs to be carefully evaluated . The court hopefully will examine these aspects and deliver a judgement which will restore fundamental rights of celebrities and prevent Dawood Gang’s taking control of Telgu film industry while warning police of not falling in the extortion trap.
