On Wednesday May 8(evening) Mr. D.C. Nath, President, Patriots’ Forum addressed a group of around 25 members at Arya Samaj Mandir Sector-IX, Ramakrishna Puram, New Delhi on the demographic challenge and security threats in India’s neighbourhood. Two other members of the Forum viz. Mr. D.K. Mittal and Priyadarshi Dutta also accompanied him. It was in pursuance of an invitation extended by the Arya Samaj Mandir through its General Secretary Mr. Surya Pal Singh.
Mr. D.C. Nath, in his lecture, enlightened the audience about the deteriorating religious demography in India. He said this has serious implication to lifestyle of the Hindus as well as the security of India. Some sectors of Indian territory would be worse affected than the rest. The Muslim demographic share has increased steeply in independent India at the cost of other communities (Census figures quoted). The assertiveness of the Muslims has increased simultaneously. The ominous situation in India’s neighbourhood like Pakistan and Bangladesh complicates the scenario. These have become hub of Islamist campaign. The Government has not yet released the religious data for Census 2011 though data in several other categories have been released. Mr. D.C. Nath called for greater dissemination of the message of Swami Vivekananda. He expected cooperation from Arya Samaj in defending the Indic Civilization under stress.
Mr. Priyadarshi Dutta made a short speech on the occasion. He noted that the imbalance in religious demography was not a new discovery. Way back in 1911, Swami Shraddhananda of Arya Samaj, was illumined on this issue by Colonel U N Mukherjee who had written a monograph- ‘Hindus, a Dying Race”. The study was based on Census reports of 1872, 1881,1891 and 1901. Swami Shraddhanand had dedicated rest of his life for ‘Shuddhi’ and ‘Sangathan’ to bring back into Hindu fold those traduced into alien faith. He also informed the audience about his RTI application on Religion-wise population data for Census, 2011. He admired the contribution of Arya Samaj in invigorating Hindu society in late 19th and early 20th century.
The presentations by Patriots’ Forum were appreciated by the host and the audience. They admitted they were aware of the gravity of the situation. Mr. Ravi Dev Gupta, President, Arya Samaj Mandir, Safdurjung Enclave, who is also the Secretary of Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation of India, said they are working to spread the message of Hinduism and stopping religious conversion. Some other members stated that the present UPA-government has consistently pursued anti-Hindu policies. It must be dumped in the next elections. Mr. Kohli, President, Arya Samaj, Sector-IX, made a strong pitch for defending Hindu interests. He thanked Patriots’ Forum.
Mr. Surya Pal Singh assured that doors of Arya Samaj Sector-IX are always open for Patriots’ Forum. Mr. D.C. Nath invited the Arya Samaj office bearers and audience to come to the meetings of Patriots Forum.
