USA – IRAN War & Demise of Indo Pacific : The Most Unwanted , Damaging and Wasteful War After The Second World War.

After the second world war, the most unwanted , wasteful and damaging war to global economy was the recent USA – Iran war . No one understood why it started nor who finally won and if it has ended permanently or temporarily.
There is a virtual global unanimity that Iran should not get nuclear weapons now or in future . But President Obama had negotiated a good deal in which Iran had agreed to give up nuclear ambition in exchange for lifting of sanctions . But President Trump cancelled it in a totally one sided move that embarrassed even European partners who had given guaranty to Iran .
In second term President Trump attacked Iran unilaterally . He possibly was buoyed by his success in Venezuela and hoped that Iranian regime will collapse if Ayotallah Khamenei was killed .
But Iran had meticulously planned for this war including replacement of Chain of command . So Khamenei’s assassination had no impact on war . Iran had hidden its missiles deep under hills in tunnels and bunker burster bombs could not destroy them fully. Uranium enrichment facilities were secured even more . Although America could not be attacked but its bases in the entire middle east were virtually destroyed . Its aircraft carriers had to be repositioned far away to protect them from Iranian missile attack. They were as extinct as dodo . Economically it was also a disaster . Patriot missile interceptors were ten times more expensive than cheap Iranian missiles and drones . They also ran in supply / replenishment problem.
Israel famous Iron Dome was made useless with large number of missiles being fired at once thus saturating its interceptor system . Israeli targets inside were also hit . So even if Iran was hurt more but it could not be defeated and can still fight a long war.
Iran became America’s Ukraine !
Trump had been elected on the promise of pulling America out of futile wars . Iran war proved huge money waste of tax payers money and American Superpower status destroyed forever including Dollar hegemony as the sole currency preferred by the world .
The world economy was badly hit by inflation . Oil became forty percent more expensive . All associated products including fertiliser became more expensive . With Hormuz closure the supply also became a problem . The attached pictures from Hindustan Times explain the full impact of war on prices. 
Even politically its effect was a disaster for USA . Gulf lost trust on American defence guaranty . It is now looking for new security partners . NATO is deflated . It was not consulted before attack and refused to back Trump. G 7 countries were already angry with insults and tariffs heaped on them .
India had the most unexpected fall out in the recent G 7 meeting . Indo Pacific command was renamed as US Pacific command thus ending any ambiguity on the demise of QUAD and possibly AUKUS . Pakistan and China were the biggest gainers . US maps started showing POK as Pak territory. With 50 % tariff , Indo US relations were already visibly under strain . Also chaining of women and children amongst illegal immigrants also was bad . Attack on commercial ships killing Indian nationals in crew lead to severe reaction in government circles . PM Modi is not amenable to charm offensive .
After sixty days truce no one knows the future . Israel will not accept Lebanon or Gaza as Iran protégée. So the war can flare up again .
Has US gained any thing with huge money wasted and thousands of deaths and putting its and allies economy in long term decline ?
No , this war was a global disaster with China and Pakistan being the only beneficiaries .
