NEW DELHI, 17 AUG: The Pakistan intelligence agency, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), is secretly operating a well managed front comprising dreaded terrorists in western Uttar Pradesh and nearby places, according to sources. The western UP network of ISI often works as a feeder service to carry out terror activities in India. In the past, several certified terrorists have been arrested or their names have cropped up from the area ~around four years ago, two ISI agents, Rubi and Asad,  were arrested. Rubi, a native of Meerut and Asad, a Pakistani national, landed in the police net from Roorkee. Asad had changed his name to conceal his identity.  Another militant, Saleem alias Patla, a resident of Lishadi Gate, Merrut, had also hit the headlines with his presence in western UP.
Jaish-e-Mohammed commander, identified as Mohammed Waras was arrested from Muzaffarnagar’s Jaula village.
Two women militants, Sabir and Naseeran, were arrested from Attari border, for carrying a huge consignment of heroin. Eight years ago, Kari Saleem, an alleged militant and native of Mahalki, UP, was arrested. He was visually impaired.
Saharanpur resident Shahid Iqbal Bhatti alias Devraj Sehgal landed in the police net from Patiala. He had arranged birth certificate and driving licence at a Saharanpur address.
Another militant who was said to be a doctor, was caught from Saharanpur’s Titro area for planning to carry out bomb blasts in Ayodhya, UP. In 2005, UP Special Task Force (STF), had arrested three Jammu and Kashmir natives, who were in possession of 5 kg RDX in Shamli, UP.
Iqbal Kana and Dilshad Mirja, both residents of western UP’s Kairana, are allegedly involved in making and circulating fake Indian currency notes in Pakistan.
Mukim and Nasir, residents of Bijnor, were arrested for their connection with Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami (HUJI).
The Special Cell of Delhi Police on Friday arrested the Lashkar-e-Taiyyaba operative, Abdul Karim alias Tunda, one of India’s 20 most wanted terrorists, for his alleged involvement in masterminding more than 40 blasts in India. He is a native of Hapur, western UP.
