SHAME ON INDIAN MEDIA : Pakistan ‘s Letter To Its Media on Terror Coverage
Those of us who remember how our TV media covered Mumbai terror attack was a disgrace . It was used by terrorist handlers in Pakistan to direct the terrorists in live communication .
The Kanhaiya episode is the latest example how rank anti nationalism is glorified beyond limit . Partly politicians are to blame particularly the Congress party . Shashi Tharoor’s comparing Kanhaiya to Shaheed Bhagat Sing…h is the new limit of morality . Chidambaram statement on Afzal Guru hanging being questionable is another example . He as home minister had recommended hanging to president on mercy appeal .
So media , driven by crass commercial considerations has abandoned any sense of responsiblility to the extent that Pakistani government has asked its TV Channels to avoid Terror coverage in commerxcial style of Indian channels but to cover it with restraint shown by European media in Brussel attack .
The total conduct of our ‘HIS MASTERS ‘ TV channels has been disgraceful . It is high time they do some soul searching and evolve a code to follow journalistic ethoes ,
