Five Indians ‘tortured’, ‘buried’ alive in Saudi
The Indian workers were punished brutally by three friends in 2010 for allegedly raping a friend’s daughter.
NEW DELHI: In a shocking revelation, a man in Saudi Arabia confessed to a local court of having tortured five Indians and then burying them alive in 2010, Arab News reports. The man told the court that he and his two friends committed the gruesome crime at a friend’s farm under the severe influence of alcohol and drugs. He told the court that the five men, believed to be expatriate workers, were punished for allegedly sexually harassing a sponsor’s daughter and other women. He was quoted by Arab news as saying, “We had alcohol with us when we arrived at the farm.” “We saw five workers with their hands tied in the seating area. When the friend with me asked why they were tied, our host said that one of them had sexually harassed his sponsor’s daughter and other women.” “I saw that the five Indian workers were tied and unconscious, just before we went to another room to drink alcohol and smoke hashish. While we were drinking, I heard one of them screaming so I went out and slapped him in the face.” The Saudi man told the court that the workers were brutally attacked by him and two of his friends till they bled. “Later the friend who came with me left the room with a stick and hit the worker until he bled. We then took them all into another room,” he said. “The three of us continued beating the workers on different parts of their bodies while continuing to drink and smoke. We kept drinking, smoking and beating them.”
After tormenting the five Indians for a long time, the three friends then decided to bury them alive. He said, “Our host suggested we bury them alive in a hole behind the entrance gate of the farm. “We tied them again with ropes and adhesive tape so they could not move.” The three men committed the heinous crime by loading the workers in a truck. The men were later dumped into a 2.5 metre-deep-hole. He added, “We buried them alive with all their identity cards. At the time for the dawn prayer my friend and I left the farm, while our host remained there alone.” The man who first discovered the decomposed bodies believed them to be those of dead animals. But the sight of undergarments next to the bodies led to the shocking revelation. The bodies were found with ropes around their arms and legs and mouths tucked with cotton and sealed by duct tapes.
